Accessibility & boarding assistance
The Edmonds terminal does have overhead passenger loading, but the ramp can be steep for passengers with disabilities. There are two stages to the ramp and each stage is approximately 200 feet in length with a gradual uphill slope. Our terminal staff can assist passengers with disabilities loading on and off the ferries. Please arrive at least 20 minutes in advance of the sailing for assistance with boarding. For passengers traveling in a vehicle who need access to an elevator, or who need extra space for a lift, please alert the ticket seller at the terminal prior to boarding the ferry so that we can meet your needs and make your trip as pleasurable as possible.
An elevator listing alone does not establish step-free access. Check WSF guidance for your terminal and sailing.

Bicycle boarding
Bicyclists may bypass the line of vehicle traffic to get to the lower ferry dock. The rider must then secure their bike and go into the passenger terminal to purchase their ticket. Their ticket will be scanned by the lower dock attendant. Bicyclists should arrive 20 minutes prior to departure time to be loaded at the beginning of loading process. If a bicyclist arrives after vehicle loading has begun, they will be loaded at the end of the load. The terminal has no bicycle racks.
Motorcycle boarding
While motorcycles are not, by Washington Administrative Code (WAC 468-300-700), a preferential loading category of users, they are often loaded prior to automobiles for operational and staging purposes. Arrival at the dock after vehicle load has commenced requires motorcycles to wait until all cars have been loaded for the next motorcycle loading opportunity. Motorcycles should proceed, while on the dock, at no more than 10 mph. Use caution when car decks are wet. The following information details specific staging for this terminal: Motorcycle Fare Purchase/Redemption Purchase tickets at the auto tollbooths, at the passenger booth at the lower dock, at the kiosk inside the terminal waiting room, or online in advance. Motorcycle Entry/Staging Pre-ticketed customers should proceed to the lower dock by utilizing local lanes. Non-ticketed customers purchase fare from either auto or passenger tollbooth. Ticket or boarding pass must be presented to traffic attendant on lower dock, then stage in front of lanes 1 and 2. Motorcycle Loading Loading order: bicycles, motorcycles, vehicles, late arriving motorcycles as space permits. Motorcycle Special Communication Advanced fare purchase is encouraged on this route. On Friday nights and weekends, motorcyclists that need to purchase fares are encouraged to do so at the lower dock.
